LFS near Newport Beach

Xenia's I can keep them about a month. They go from 2 stalks to 8 to nothing. Oh well, such is life and the hobby. At least there are people willing to give frags away.

Don't you keep any fish? Or do you only feed your fish once every 4 days?

In my 80 gallon reef I have 9 fish. The top 3 guys are a flame angel, powder blue tang, and yes a porcupine puffer. He/she is my favorite. I feed them every other day.

hmm...ok...thanx. 8 stalks in a 80g tank I would hardly consider critical mass for them to die from starving. I wonder...hmm...
I think this is far greater than 8 stalks in pristine waters

I will say this, everytime I feed my SPS corals phytoplankton or bioplankton from marineusa the Xenias would shrink barely recover and then wither.

Coral oasis... ben is very cool
reef collections .. hb also good store
seaside is OK .. ( I've never had a bad experience there,... good fish, pricey on the corals... )
reef room .. been there nice guy... expensive corals..
tongs .. way way overpriced.
aquatic marines ... KUDOS to Hugo for opening his own store ( sorry I havent been there yet .. But I am opening my own jewelry store so I have noo time )
black coral .. GREAT FISH!!! corals kinda browned out.. but I hear they are nice.. and good prices.
sand bar pets .. nice corals and great guy not too cheap... but some stuff I dont see too much

Black Coral, due to the nature of their business, always kinda has... whatever they have that day. Corals can be nice if you get there when they just got a good shipment. The fish are the healthiest around, IMO, but again, the selection sometimes isn't the best.

crsandoval - I've never been able to keep xenia either. I've heard that they like high alk (define high?) and high pH (over 8.3).

Watever Alk correlates w/ a pH of 8.5. I give an Alk reading once I get my Salifert test as my current test only reads low, normal, high. But I start another thread on that...

Anyone else remember the store off of Oso parkway near that huge stripmall with all the mega chain stores? Maybe it's still in existence and at a different location. I have no idea since I rarely have reason to venture that far south, but it's bugging me...

I don't remember if it was. It was in an office/industrial complex that was right next to all those bed bath and beyond/target/petsmart type stores adjacent to the freeway.

petown was off of El Toro. I loved that place. Just the ambience of the whole store was aweomse. Nice and dark in the back for the fish/coral viewing, friendly staff, just the smell of the store. lol im glad i was in there as often as i was before they called it quits.
