LFS Suggestions?

Greetings SoCal Reefers,

I'm visiting from Colorado and am looking for your suggestions on which LFS stores are worth a peek. Interested in stores between El Segundo (where I'm working) and Irvine area.

I'm familiar with Tong's Tropical Fish (frequently buy here when I'm in town), Fish 2000 in Tustin (iffy at best), Jeff's original store (warehouse) but have not seen the new store yet.

I'm here through Sunday and planning on doing some shopping this weekend for the trip home. Interested in healthy corals and unique fish (particularly rare butterflies and angels).

What do you suggest? If someone has posted a review of SoCal LFS, a link would be great.

Thanks for your local expertise..... and you folks are definitely lucky given your proximity to the wholesalers, selection and pricing!

Thanks,

-Rob

reef collection moved to costa mesa right by southcoast. There's also a pacific reef in fountain valley.

aquarium store map was very helpful in searching in my area... Pacific Reef Tropical Fish located in torrance has a very nice coral selection and sells MANY frags for $10 or less...there store is a very nice size. almost as big as tongs. They just opened up JUNE 1st, im sad to say that there livestock selection is most likely not the greatest as of yet finding many small fish suffering and/or dead in most tanks they seem to house empty glass sections with very young False Percs and about 1 in 3 seem to be dead along with a few other fish like 1 longnose butterfly and a few wrasses didnt seem to make it...spanish dancer... i have seen all this death in just 2 visits...and im positive that there have been many more prior and following that i have not witnessed...i do understand that since it is a LFS that there are going to be casualties then your average home reef considering the ammount of livestock they carrey, but IMO (which is really always, well honestly almost never, sometimes not so more then so, NOT the most educated) i think/assume they added fish too soon... so who knows what that might mean for the corals :( . im not too sure if there system has fully cycled as of yet.
