I read a thread on this a few months ago, as I recall the life span varied greatly depending on the species. seems like the average life span was about two years in captivity. I kind of remeber reading that one species live for 15 years or so......

Maximum life span in the field ranges from a couple of years for some squillids to more than 20 for Lysiosquillina. Most gonodactylids seem to range in the 4-6 year range. My guess is that O. scyllarus are similar, although we have no field data.
