Well I have a big t-5 fixture.. one of the bulbs isnt working.. its not the bulb itself, its something with the wiring.. Long story short.. we have to bring it somewhere tomorrow to get it fixed... I dont have any real backup lighting..

How long can the tank last w/o lighting?

I've kept my lights off for 5 days to fight cyno. I've read on another thread that some guys keep there lights off a few days a month. After all when fish and coral are shipped they're kept in the dark.

yeah....i've heard that a few days off every month or so is good. stimulates what the ocean has during storms....also helps keep algae & such growth down

What James said. :) There are cloudy days, and stormy days too. Can't always be sunshine.

A few days won't hurt.
