I just started a few mouth ago and love zoo's ... When i put some of my zoo's up higher in my tank they look like they bleach out ..... I have a 150 watt mh 14 k How much light do they need and how much light is bad thank you for your help

Its all about acclimation and nutrients in the water.

most(note-not ALL) zoas and palys can take and thrive in everything your 150 watt lights could possibly throw at them with any bulb choice. But not if you do it too fast or dont feed the tank enough.

To be sure......when I say lots of nutirents I dont mean a dirty tank necessarily. Feed the tank and fish and get it out. ;)

Ditto... :D

I have some under 250w MH's an inch from the surface and some under 8x54w T5's... Make sure your Nitrates and Phosphates are low and you can get away with high light on just about every zoanthid/paly after acclimating them... Those that don't like the higher light will start to slightly close... Ihave this happen with my PD's when they're just under the surface of my 250w's...
