light question

I have a 44 gallon corner tank so it is deeper than it is wide and it was suggested to me that I needed better lighting. Right now I only have 30 watts, 15 from a coralife full spectrum lamp and 15 from a coralife actinic 05 lamp. My hood is to small for T5, VHO, or halide bults (they are all 24" or more and I can only fit 18 - 20") The owner of my local LFS said that he could get me a hood that would hold compact light which would up my watts to 95 instead of 30. Would this type of lighting work the same way as T5 of VHO?

you can get a clip on metal halide that will work for about any application. i have one on my 105. clips on the back of the tank !

i have that exact light and like it alot, its on my 105. i almost have everything out and was planning on useing it for a frag tank light but i dont think im going to do a frag tank at the moment. if you are interested i will make you a deal on it. its about 5-6 months old used about 8 houres a day.
