Light Schedule Options

If you had to go with one of the four below light schedule options what would you go with? This is for an ATI dimmable fixture. I just want to get some ideas.

Option 1
Blues (1hr) ramp up to 100%
All (7hrs) at full 100%
Blues (1hr) ramp down to 0%


Option 2
Blues (2hrs) ramp up to 100%
All (7hrs) at full 100%
Blues (2hrs) ramp down to 0%


Option 3
Blues (1hr) ramp up to 100%
All (8hrs) at full 100%
Blues (1hr) ramp down to 0%


Option 4
Blues (2hr) ramp up to 100%
All (8hrs) at full 100%
Blues (2hr) ramp down to 0%

Is this a new fixture? Are your corals already acclimated to the use of 100% power?

I switched from 1000W of MH to new leds and after 10 weeks I still don't run at 100%. In fact I'm at 90% blue and 40% white. I have the luxury of having a PAR meter and 24" down in my tank the leds are very close to what the MH were before the switch.

All that said, I'd pick option 4 as my first choice and option 2 as my second. I ramp up for 3, run at 90/40 for 5 and ramp down for 3. My ramp up is slightly more blue, the 5 hr run is white and the ramp down is much more blue. But that's more about my personal viewing choice than concern for the corals. My corals are growing just as fast now as they did under 8 hrs of MH.

This is a new fixture and new tank. I am just looking ahead and what options to go with.

The tank is actually still cycling. Just came out of the ammonia stage a few weeks ago and am starting to see the nitrites come down now. So that said there are no corals in the tank at this time. I really have only been lighting the tank for an hour or two as I test the water in the evening.

Ohh...one last thing this is a dimmable T5 fixture.

Rember, ATI Dimmables require a 50 hr minum burnin @ 100 0/0 time period before you start dimming...

Just looking to what the times should be when the are ready to go dimmable.

My fixture is not dimmable but I run 7 hours of daylights and 1.5 hrs before and after for dusk/dawn. works good for me.
