Lighting a sump/fuge

Hey i'm sure this has been asked lots of times but i couldn't find anything for a 10g so i though i'd ask i plan on growing Chaetomorpha,Red Mangrove and some other basic macroalgae I heard just about any light 6000k-8000k will work but how many watts should i go for around 10-20w?
Thanks
Nick

I use these for my refugiums,

24" Aqualight T5 w/14W 10,000K Fluor. Lamp (ESU)

works great and my CHEATO has been growing like crazy.

also you can bulb a florescent bulb from a hardware store that has at least 6500k rating in the 15-30 watt range, works great.

T5 > PC > Incandescent

T5 > PC > Incandescent

Since the “light wands” are incandescent and have no reflectors, I would not recommend them.

You did not state how you are planning on mounting the lights.

If you plan to “drape” the light on the front and back rims of your tank, the following power compact (PC) fixtures may work: http://www.customaquatic.com/customaquatic/subsubcategorypage.asp?subcatindexid=lt-pc-15

If you plan to place the light over the side rims of your tank, the following PC & T5 fixtures may work:

If you plan to hang the light above the tank, this may work:

My first choice will be the T5 fixtures because these 24” 14-watt lamps are very efficient, producing 90-100 lumens per watt.

hmm i was thinking of going with the hanging over the tank idea but i'm wondering about the T5 but i'm still leaning to hanging it but i'm not 100% sure now...
Thanks for the links though
