Lighting acclimation Question?

I just added 2 MH 175's (14K) to my current setup of 4x65 pc's. This is all above my 75g(18" High). My Halide sit about 6" above my water line.....I know this is rather close but due to some other issues it is the highest I can go. Anyways how should I break the tank in with the new lighting? I was told by a few people to start off with 1 hour the first week and then add an hour each week until I get to 5hrs a day. That would give me the following light schedule:

Actinics On 5pm
10k On 6pm
MH On 7pm

MH Off 12am
10k Off 1am
Actinics Off 2am


What do you think? Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

I typically cut my lighting period in half when acclimating to new bulbs or lighting(I keep the atinics the same). From there I go up one hour a week until I am where I want to be.
