Lighting and coral

I have a 40g breeder with 1 hydra 26 (I'm going to add a 2nd soon). I added a ricordea and acropora frag to the tank. The ricordea is doing great but the acropora bleached within 48 hours. I am running my lights at 25% right now. Is it possible my lights bleached it or is there more likely a different cause. The acropora was on a rock in the very middle of the tank. The lights are about 8 inches off the water.

I suspect something other than the lights caused the bleaching. A complete list of your water parameters and equipment would help try to identify the issue.

I had the same thing happen with my acro. But I added new lights. They seem to not handle sudden change well at all (my lights were also way too close). Is there anything you changed in your lighting routine?
