I have dabbled in the reef hobby for over a year now and currently after a successful move across washington state I am down to a 20 Gal nano. The dilemma is that as far as lighting goes I only have two regular flourescent hoods one has an actinic bulb, and the other is an 8000K bulb I believe. The only obstacle I have to overcome is lighting, I read the threads on here and I have no idea what anyone is talking about beyond PC's, and T5's. I really like metal halide lighting but am completely clueless as to what you need, and am deturred by the high maintenance costs of replacing the bulbs. I would love to get my hands on a T5' hood for my nano, also anyone who can dig up a good article on lighting specifically MH lighting I would really appreciate it. Please let me know where to look for a T5 hood preferrably a 24incher...any websites with good deals would be more than great help for a beginner in reef lighting...THANKS A LOT!!!

www.reefgeek.com 24" Tek light T5 hood. you could probably get away with the Finnex hood www.premiumaquatics.com sells to even though it doesn't have the good reflectors like the Tek does. The Tek would be better if you want anemones and SPS, Finnex if you want softies.
