Lighting Experts...what's 7100 Blue?

Hey you lighting experts? What's the advantage/disadvantage of 7100 blue power compacts. I've been tweaking my set up...replaced 10k MH with 14k MH and my front blue with 50/50 actinic/10K. Noticed that my blue doesn't look like actinic which is kinda purple. My blue is a bright blue...talked to Hamilton and they said it is 7100 blue.

What spectrum is this and what's the benefits?

The bulb is as good as junk if its your main light source. It does not have enough of the right spectrum of blue that your corals need. But if you mean your 14k is MH, then it all depends on wheter you like the color since MH has enough of the full spectrum.

The 7100k is the best looking color light when combine with a 10k mh. There is not much use other than that. I have try 03 and true actinic and the mh just over power it. So imo, the 7100k give it the perfect balance, imo.

IMO, the 7100k is just too light blue. I think actinic looks a lot better. But as said, 7100k is only good if combined with MH and if you like that color.

In my case, my hood came with 10K MH and 7100 PCs. I didn't like the look, so now using 14K MH with 50/50 (actinic/10K) PCs....like it much better. That's when I noticed that my "blue" was different then on my new 50/50 bulbs....eventually found out they were 7100s, which are more blue then purple.

So, bottom line is I have (2) barely used 96W 7100 blue PCs for sale if anyone is interested. They have about 210 hours on them each. Square pin, but not sure about the length...proabably 33 in.
