Hey... I have a 29 Gallon tank and I'm wondering what kind of light I should get. I've read a lot of posts about 250w and 150w etc etc but i was wondering if anyone had specific links of products to buy. I am looking to keep sps and maybe a clam. Any help would be awesome... thanks in advance...:rollface:

if you are looking to do SPS i would definitely suggest a 250 watt halide.
I have an aqua medic 250 watt pendant that I'm going to use on my new SPS tank.

though you can find all sorts of 250 watt pendant or retrofit solutions. it depends on if you want to build a canopy or leave it open. (i like the open top w/ a pendant stradegy myself). hellolights.com is a good source for lighting whichever way you go.

I have the 250w PFO Mini Pendant and HQI ballast that I got from MarineDepot http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_lighting_metal_halide_pfo_hqi_mini_pendant.asp?CartId=. I have it over my 29g.

Thank you all for your quick responses, the only thing is i do not want to have to build/buy a hood in order to mount many of those fixtures, nor am i allowed to drill into the roof and make holes in order to hang a fixture...

alien9168, do you have a link where i can look at the viper? i don't know much about lights... would it be enough for a 29g like J3838 mentioned?
i can't say i'm in love with architecture right now, even though i love doing it... lol. it's my 2nd year and i've been getting less than 3 hours of sleep a day. are you an architect yourself?

I dont know if it would be enough for a 29, but the clamp on by coralife woud be.
I was looking at a career in architecture. I studied it at umd lats summer and loved it. Just wondering how you like it. I guess your occupation caught my eye. Is it the kind of thing that you love to do, but are too busy with. If I enjoy it, should I pursue it?
