I am going to be upgrading my 56 tall to a 92 corner shortly. This will be a fowlr with an anenone and a few mushrooms. Wondering what king of lighting to go with. I know u usually get what you pay for but trying to make the move on a budget.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Was looking at the marinelife reef ready led for 300 but the fixtures seems thin and this is a fairly deep tank.

For the oddly shaped aquariums, such as your corner, LED seems to e a versatile and quite efficient option. Since you only wan mushrooms and such, your lighting needs are easy. Yet anemones do require intense light in some cases... So I'm not sure how these two would mix.

If you want to go the economical route, DIY LED would be perfect. Look up rapidled.com, should be helpful in your search.

If you want a fixture, AI are certainly the top of the heap in LED, however you might not need that much light.

T5 and metal halide are always good options and well. T5 is my personal favorite, but I'm this situation I dont know your dimensions so I can't recommend anything.

Another thing to keep in perspective is at some point, will you want to start keeping corals or not. If you have a slight interest in tougher corals than say mushrooms... If might be a better investment to get a light capable of say SPS or LPS rather than buy a additional fixture down the road.

But anyways, in your situation, there are many choices. I'd recommend one 400 watt halide, or 6-8 T5's (whatever length fits your setup), or one AI sol hung up high. All of these will give you options.

Could you go into more depth on what you're looking for. Based on those options, what do you think? I'm more than willing to help, so just ask.

Others are sure to help as well here, so good luck!!! :)

When I had a 92 gal corner bow, I had 5 -6 bulbs of T5s and I was able to keep a mix of SPS and LPS. I had four 24" in the back and two 36" bulbs in the front. If you don't need a lot of light, I'd suggest 4 bulbs or less. Depending on whether you want to DIY or purchase a fixture, you can decide accordingly, but a small 24" T5 fixture will probably suit your needs.

I have a 92 gal corner, I use the 36" Coralife Aqualight Pro with 1 250watt Metal Hallide fixture. I keep SPS, LPS, 1 Sebae, 2 BTA's no problem. You need either a metal hallide that's atleast 250watt-400watt, or the more powerful LED's to penetrate 30 inches of height. My BTA's stay in the bottom of the tank and are doing fine with the 250 MH. I'm in the process of reseaching the more powerful LED's out there though.
