Ok i have 2-65 watt lighting i took those bulbs out and put 2-65 watt daylight 10000 k lighting ing.. would that be ok for a anemone in a 29 gal tank.

I had that exact setup for about 8 mths. As you can see it was quite bleached under 2x65w PC 10K. Even with several feedings a week.

After the addition of 400w 13k MH, it colored up quite a bit and didn't have to feed it more than once a week.

A BTA might be okay with PCs. Look up the Anemone FAQ, it is quite helpfull. Good luck :)

I've heard of people having some success with T5's fitted with individual reflectors on the bulbs, so that might be cheaper than MH.

I originally got it for about $150 off ebay, but threw out the cheap 10K that came with it and bought the Venture lamp for about $100. I made my own hood. Then the ballast blew about a month later and had to buy a used PFO ballast from my LFS for $100. (long story short, buy good parts from a quality source...)

T5's would be a very good choice as well. 400w is overkill for a 29g, but I've had good success with it, so why change... (I DO hate the high electric bills though... )

Those T5s would be better than your PCs, but from what I've read, to get the most out of T5s, they should have individual reflectors. (That model doesn't appear to have that.)

What about spectrum for BTA's?
Is a strong antinic mandatory to promote zoo?
or would it be better to have more daylight spectrum with a 50/50 bulb?

More daylight spectrum will give you more useable light. Spectrum is not really that important for anemones, just intensity.

I got the T-5 halide combo from current and love it.
They have a different reflector now that has a rib in the center, so similar to individual reflectors.
My light is pretty intense, and even w/ just T-5's on my nems/corals seem happy.
Even straight T-5's are nice and good for nems and most corals.
Shimmer of halide is nice, but hot, and alot more evaporation.

DODO99- that LTA looks exactly like mine.
Do you have an exact ID?
Green corkscrew doreensis?

Even if you get a fixture without individual reflectors, I think that Ice Cap makes add-on ones for like 10 bucks.

True.
I think reefgeek.com has them also pretty cheap.
Some say they need to bend the reflectors a little to make fit.
No big deal.

From what I was told, it's (I assume it's still alive, I'd have to check on that with the new owner...) an LTA, M. Doreensis.
