Wondering if my lighting is sufficient enough to keep an anenome happy. My tank is a 75 gallon. 48 inches long. Lighting is T5 - 4x54 watts. 216 total. Anyone? Lots of flow. Do anenomes typically like lots of flow?
Depends on the type of nem but most do prefer flow. Halides are usually required but BTA can do well under t5s/8's. What did you have in mind, would be able to advise better if I knew what you were after...
Cheers
Keith
I was looking for something to host my pair of Black and White clowns. Truthfully, I want something easy and on the hardier side. Perhaps I could go with something else.
Is there a pretty easy going anenome for a starter?
Nems arent really considered 'hardy' but I would suggest a bubble tip if you really did want to go ahead. Clowns dont actually need nems and many end up forming 'homes' in some soft corals (leathers) or some lps like hammers and the like.
Bubble tips are probably the most hardy and forgiving and require the least in the way of lighting and flow. Most are usually tank bred too
Lets see what others suggest but I think the consensus will be BTA's.
Agree. BTA are on the easier side. I have both a BTA and Ritteri. Regardless, most will require lots of light. If it's too bright, they''ll move on their own. Most also like some amount of flow.
