Lighting for chaetomorpha

Hi, all. I am planning on having a 5 gallon refugium with chaetomorpha under my tank stand (as part of a larger sump design). I am wondering what everyone does for lighting under the stand. I was thinking of going with something like this: http://www.homedepot.com/Lighting-Fans-Security-Flood-Lighting/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xr5Zaqp5/R-100016925/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053#BVRRWidgetID (hope this doesn't break any forum rules)
The package in the store says it puts out the equivalent of a 100 watt bulb. The kelvin rating was listed at 6500K.

That, or I was going to use one of those cheapo shop lights with a screw-in type compact florescent bulb. If that's the better way to go, what type (wattage, K-rating, brand) of bulb should I get?

That should work just fine.. It looks almost identical to the pair I just bought but the bulb appears to be different and that has lower wattage. 6500K is the key. This is the one that I went with and I ordered it directly from the Lights of America distributor that was local to me. I went to home depot and didnt see those. Maybe I need to go back to see what I missed... I might have to try the lower wattage setup as well to compare.

You don't have to spend nearly than much. Get a 6500k $6 CFL flood and a socket to plug it in to. My chaeto exploded after switching to CFL flood.

Ditto on the el cheapo 6500K CF floodlight. Under 10 bucks at Home Depot or Lowes. Here's mine:

What wattage are you guys using? For me, I dont mind spending the extra coin to have a decent fixture as I am building the sumps and the covers will be cut to allow the lights to set into the top lid.

I been running the lights of america from homedepot, just haven't been getting the growth I'm looking for. Going to look for that compact fluorescent flood bulb in morning. See how that one does.

Thanks for the responses, everyone. I was originally going to go with a simple cf bulb and one of those clip-on work light fixtures. However, I was having trouble finding a screw-in type cf bulb that had the wattage/kelvin ratings that I was looking for. That lights of America fixture was the only thing that I came across that seemed to fit the bill. However, now I'm going to try to find that "daylight" cf bulb that was posted.

Went looking for the cf bulbs, but had no luck! Homedepot, lowes, kmart,& walmart don't carry that brand or that kelvin ratting. Did hower fine lithonia standard flood light with 65w fluorescent with 6500k, much better white light than my lights of america 27w. See this one does.

Did you find that at Home Depot, Lowes or walmart "lithonia standard flood light with 65w fluorescent with 6500k"

I had to search a little bit, but my Lowes had a 90W comparable CF bulb in 6500K.

I am just using the same thing your looking for, a CF flood light with the cheap clip on holder, works for me.

This is the one I got a while back. Either Home Depot or Lowes, can't remember. Has worked out great. Far less than $43, more like 8-10. I bought 3-4 of them.
