Lighting for frogspawn or Hammer. Is it enough?

I am thinking about taking the leap eventually and curious if my lighting will be enough to make these coral happy. I like the way they move and look and so does my girl friend. I have a 45 gallon tank with a good flow my lights are 4X96 W power compact with lunars. If any one could let me know I would greatly appreciate it I run two white and two blue.

Ok thank you is there anything else needed to be known? I know the are photosynthetic and that you do not need to feed them direct. What else would be good to put in with this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I like LPS my girlfriend really likes the frogspawn and I like the hammers. I have heard mushrooms can over run your tank so not sure I would like to get in to them what else would look nice with the frog and hammer? I have never gotten in to this beofre which is why I am asking all these questions.

has any one kept torch corals and can give some advice I am thinking hammer, frog, and torch in the tank? Will that work.

Ok thank you for the incite is there anything I need to know besides lighting? I know clown fish can host in some of these as well can that be detremental to the health of the coral? Also are there any fish to stay away from getting because they like to torment these corals?

I keep all thoselps together and they are fine all from the same family. I would start with one and see how it does with that lighting.

I too have all three with no problem. I keep them separated though ... from each other and from other corals. They have a pretty powerful sting. To your question about feeding them, yes, they are photosynthetic but I also supplement with phytoplankton. They love it.

Ok thanks for the info I will get some of that before I get them. I also have feather dusters would that cause a issue since they have a pretty bad sting? Also what is the best way to acclimate them i know with most corals you should dip to kill anything that could possibly be on them that could threaten the DT but I guess what is the best way to do it and is there anything special to know.

What is considered alot of flow? I am new to LPS and want to make sure I dont cause a problem I currently have the return which is about 300 gph off my canister then I have two power heads which are about 265 gph turning the water in the DT. Is this to much if so I can remove a power head to bring it down more. I kinda have a idea where I would place them which is no where near a power head or the return but would give it a nice slow current. Like I said I have feather dusters and watch them to depend on my power heads.

Well I took the dive and bought my first coral. It is a nice 8 headed torch coral about the size of a softball once fully extended. it is doing great I was a little concerned when I first got it but after day two it was fully extended in my tank and looked great where I placed it. Thank you everyone for the advice.

I will try and get some tonight when I get home and post them. How fast can you add corals? I am thinking about a hammer or frogspawn next found a lfs that does great about pricing and sells nice corals even has a discount tank as well with everything in there.

If the torch is your first, I'd wait a few weeks to make sure it does well. If it's thriving, then you can probably add some more. :D

here are a few pics of the torch

So far coral is looking great had one spot that looked bleached arms looked white and not tan like the other heads. Nice thing is it looks like it is turning tan now and coming back to being a nice color. If I am wrong let me know will add more pics tonight to test this since I know it can change colors and I might not notice it so I will compare pictures.
