Lighting help please

Good morning all...I am trying to talk my husband into letting me purchase/run the Outer Orbit HQI/Compact Fluorescent/Lunar Fixture/ 560 watt system. He is turing himself wrongside out and telling me that with the price of electricity in Maine it is going to cost an additional $100 a month on the light bill. Does anyone have a close estimate of what it will increase the light bill with average use...just a ball park figure?

I should introduce myself also...i'm Laverna's cousin and I hope to meet some of you. She has signed me up for one of the meeting on clams??? LOL

I would reconsider the Outer Orbit fixtures. I have a 36 inch fixture and two of the PC ballasts have burned out in the first 13 month. I think mine averages about $40.00 / month +/- IMO there are better quality fixtures out there.

We have an Orbit 72" (not the one w/halides) and we've had 3 ballasts burn out in less than a year. Piece of crap.

I have the ficture your thinking of buying. One of my ballasts burned out within 4 months, also i have heard of problems with switching brands on the bulbs. Supposedly it has trouble firing the phoenix and i believe the ushio

I have had a aqualight for over a year and it works very well. It is
shown in this thread. I did not like the coralife 150 watt 10k bulb
with it and replaced it with Giesman bulbs. If you buy it you may be able to get them to put in a different bulb. They are not that bad, I just preferred a different type of bulb.

I have the Aqualight Pro 150W w/ 10k bulbs on the 75g and bought the 250W version for the 125.

Sorry it took so long to answer.....been in the garden the last few days.
