Should you be lighting live rock after it is cycled before you add corals?

You dont have to, the rock will still be alive without light, what the light does for liverock is the coralline growth. It wont hurt to have some light on it.

Blown 346 is right on it. I lighted mine for just 4 or 5 hours to keep the algae down. Coraline does not need long hours of light to grow. Some folks think it takes very little actually.

I lighted mine just minimal.

i did 4 hours first three weeks then uped to 6 hrs last week
