The fish went to the award winning marine fish breeder Matt Pedersen. For those of you who do not know, Pedersen is a well-known breeder who garnered significant and well-deserved attention in the hobby for pioneering the breeding of harlequin filefish!We will hopefully see some of these guys soon scence its in this guys hands!

Hey Guys, Ret Talbot here, and I took the picture at the start of this thread. Not a great picture--it's funny this is the one that has circulated the most...lol. At any rate, I'm a writer and photographer who was in Papua New Guinea when this fish was collected, and I have been following it very closely along the chain of custody to Matt's tank. I was in PNG researching a story on the SEASMART Program.
A couple things that might interest folks are that this is the second PNG lightning maroon clownfish to be collected from the same fishery management area (FMA) and the fisher was actually quite well compensated for the collection. The first PNG lightning maroon clownfish was collected back in 2008. Several other interesting variants have been seen on the same reef sparking lots of discussion about whether it is genetic or environmental.
