Lighting question

So I have a set of Coralife PC 48" with moon lights, Would these be suffencient for a tank that would is 16" deep and 14" wide? I have heard nothing but bad things about PC's. I eventually will upgrade to T5HO's, but this is my first tank so i'm trying to get a feel for them, do i need to just go buy better lights or will they work for now.

How many gallons is your tank? What are your stocking plans? A pc light will do for a fish only tank but for coral you will need at least t5's

55ga Long, the base of the rock is on eggcrate and raised it about an inch, and from the base of the rock to the light is 14.2". I plan on getting some beginner corals, although my bro in law who had the lights before had a very well maintained reef with all sorts of corals (not sure of the names)

the pc light u can keep with corals with low light like chalice, zoanthids soming like that if you plant to keep sps than you have to go with t5,mh or leds. i have run my pc light on my 50 gallon reef over 3 years and the corals see happy with it.

See thats what i plan on doing, just some beginner corals.. This is my first saltwater tank ever, and I have plenty of time to upgrade lights once i learn the ropes a little bit better. You can check out my build pictures and give me insight as well.
