Lighting Question

My tank is 24x24x12, I had the AI Vega LED Color but it didn't really cover enough of the tank so I decided to go back to T5, I purchased an ATI Sunpower 6x24w non dimmable fixture with 3 Blue Plus, Purple Plus, Coral Plus and Atinic. Being that my tank is only 12" deep, I have the light raised at 12" AWL. Do you think that the light will be to powerful for that depth of a tank? I don't want to have the light to high up because then it looks stupid. My other option is going to a Ecotech Radion Gen2 or Pro and maybe supplement with a T5 bulb on each side and sell the T5...

Any ideas?

I suspect it will be fine down to the bottom at that height but I'd go with a PAR meter reading to make sure.

SPS should be fine even if its closer. Add another actinic if you want to lower PAR.

Just let your corals adjust and drop it down more until you feel everything is good.

It seems that the zoa's at the height the light is at are having issues, some of them look like the skirts are fading and a few getting what looks like a little white bleach spot? If I have to raise it any higher I would rather get LED again, I don't want the light to be way up and light to escape.

I have supposed "low light"palys that aren't even 12" from the my Sunpower & they are growing way to fast!

Keep at it, you'll find a sweet spot hopefully & they may be adjusting still.

Can you post pics?

One GHL mitras would do really well over that tank as would one radion with t5s on the sides!

One GHL Mitras covers a 24x24 area easily!!!

One radion gen2, 9" from water line would be awesome. I'm rocking two on my 120, which is 48"-24"-24". Hella coverage and with the Eco Smart Live Connection you can work miracles with it to your own visual delight. Here's before pic with 20k , 250 watt Radiums

Here's a pic of the 120 with lights at peak of 68% power rocking half the tank to show you the depth and penetration...
