Lighting question

I currently have a 400 watt 14K Hamilton MH bulb and was thinking about going with a 400 watt 10K MH with 2 - 24" actinic VHO's. The question is, will the lighting look ok if I run the two VHO's from front to back instead of left to right. My hood will only allow the front to back mounting.

Should, but I think the 10K will wash out the actinic VHOs. I'm running 6 VHOs and my 3 175 watt 10ks pretty much wash the blue color out. I just learned to live with it, thinking it was a shallow reef lagoon during the day

I'll probably check out what it looks like with the 14K also. I just am wondering about the placement of the two VHO's

I've seen several people do exactly what your saying and it seemed to work for them. Just play with their placement a bit before you mount them.

Thanks for the reply... I'm mainly wanting to make the colors pop just a little more and to simulate dusk and dawn.
