Q: who is the manufacturer of this metal halide lighting system?
A: It is generic, and made in China.
Thank you,

It sounds like Aqua Trader/Odyssea has a new name. There is a huge thread about them and problems with them around here somewhere. Long story short often you do get what you pay for. They may be making better products now, I won't be the one to let you know from first hand experience about that tho
I don't know anything about the brand... I can tell you though that I have a Coralife unit that is great... But be careful with the bow tank. I have one too and the ends were too narrow for the legs. My light is now suspended from the ceiling -- best thing I ever did!
I'm not sure they make it anymore though Fosters and Smith had one in the last catalog. It's the one down from their best.
Twin 175's and two sets of PC's. It's the aqua light "elite."
I bought it used for 250.00 Lists new with F & S for 759.00
I went cheap once on my lighting and bought an off brand no one had ever heard of. The fixture had a fan, but still got so hot I was seriously afraid it was going to catch on fire. Also, the bulbs that came with it were crap. Keep searching on Ebay and eventually a coralife fixture or PFO or something will come up at a reasonable price.
Forgot to answer a couple of questions... I do not have a top on the tank, but the light has a protective glass/plastic cover to prevent spray getting on the bulbs.
I have not noticed that it heats the water. It's suspended about 4-5 inches off the tank.
