lighting requirements for cheato

I just acquired some cheato for my 65 gallon fuge. I have my lights on from 6am-6pm. Will that be enough for it to grow? I heard that it doesn't take much.

you can leave the ligh ton 24 hours and that will make it grow fast. i keep my lights on for about 14 hours.

Do not leave you lights on for 24 hours a day. Any biology book/course that explains plants and photosynthesis will show you why that does not work.

For long term success 12 hour photo period light/dark works best. That cycle is what every plant on earth has evolved with. It works.

It's worked for my fuge for the last year.

While there are indeed some macor's that show better growth with a dark period, some such as chaeto do just fine if not better under 24 hr lighting
