Lighting suggestion for seahorse, zoa, macro tank

The light fixture I purchased is too tall for the canopy of our tank, so I'm looking for suggestions on an alternative fixture. Tank will house lots of red, yellow, orange, so I think the fixture should contain a color spectrum that won't wash them out. My canopy is only 4 inches tall, so the fixture needs to be thin, and I would really like it if I could mount it in the canopy.

I've been seriously considering the radion 2nd gen; the price is a deterrent, but I like that I can mount it on the canopy and its easily programmable.

Any opinions or suggestions?

Thought about building a DIY LED light? They are not hard and you can get the color your looking for and fairly cheap.

I have dimmable LEDs, and keep them almost at half the brightness, but the shimmer is so pretty. I had T5s first, and they were fine, but we upgraded our reef lights, and my horse tank inherited the LEDs :)

I would go LED. You don't want to add any heat to your tank since a pony tank will need to be cooler. I have an AI Nano fixture that has been great. It's a little "washed" compared to full spectrum lighting, but I don't have to run a chiller, and just blow a fan across the tank during the summer.
