Lighting upgrade

I am currently using a Current Orbit 2x40 watt PC light on my 10 gallon prop tank. I will be upgrading my system hopefully soon to a 33 cube display and 40 breeder prop tank. I will be purchasing this week an Aqualight Pro 24" with a 150 watt halide and 2 PC's for actinics. For the time being I will change the Orbit with the Aqualight over the 10 gallon until I get the 33 set up. I currently run my actinics for 12 hours a day and the daylights for 10. What photoperiod would you suggest I start with to acclimate and what should I move it to eventually?? Thanks.

Thanks a lot Grim. Should I use shading as well?? The tank has three eggcrate shelfs. On the top shelf are only Acros and Monti caps and digis. Would they do ok with the jump?? I assume with the legs the light will be about 6" or so above the surface.

I would just watch things. You could maybe come up with a way to raise the light highr at first but I think the short photoperiod will be fine to let them acclimate.

nugz, I agree with the reaper. I just upgraded my lighting from the coralife deluxe 4x65 pc to the current sunpod 2x150x 14k DE HQI. I have LPS, no acro's yet. Took out all my softies and run the lights 4 hr to acclimate and will jump 1 hour eah week til they run 7-8 hours a day.

Sounds like a plan. I do appreciate the responses Grim and mile. Hopefully everything will do well. I'm excited to see the difference.
