Setting up a 40 breeder sps only except my leftover hammer and torch colonies and a few acans. anyways, settled between 2 lights and was wondering which would be better? It will be hung by the way
6x24 t5 or 4x36 t5

I'd recommend a 6 by 36'' for an SPS dominant tank.

With a 6 bulb 36" hanging won't I get a bunch of light spill therefore wasting it?

depending on your reflector. You'll have shadows with the 24"
