it depends what you are planning to keep in it ...just fish only...or a reef ...either way try the selling forum you can find good deals on there.

Some corals, like Acropora, tend to require bright lighting. Others won't survive bright lighting. So you'll need to make more choices. Also, we'd need to know the size and dimensions of the tank to give much specific help.

Metal halide and T5 generally are the most effective systems for the highest levels of lighting that are required.

I went with T5HO for the reduced heat in comparison to Metal halide, but you do get the cool shimmering effect from MH

You need some good circulation if you get MHs. I feel like I'm in a tanning salon when I'm next to my tank

I have a 20g system with a 175 W Iwasaki bulb over it, and it doesn't need any cooling at all, although it is a pendant system (no closed hood).
