I was running 4 VHO 2 Actinic and 2 10k Sun Uri's (110w with Ice Cap) and 2x 175W MH Sunburst 12K. I did have my set up so that the VHO came on first at 10am to 9pm and the MH on at 3pm to 7pm. It is bright..maybe two bright? One of my Acros's is bleaching out. What I did to see if I could turn things around was to change the light pattern. I now have the MH come on at 10am to 9pm and the VHO on at 4pm to 8pm ( to simulate peak light hours of the day). Seems the the Acro is steadily starting to gain back some color or least has stopped bleaching. It's a bit early to tell but I will let this go for a few weeks and see what happens. I did frag off a small piece and move it lower in the tank, just in case. Just curious if there is any reason this would be a bad for my tank...I have limited corals only because it is a new set up ( 60 days or so), but I will be adding 6-10 new corals after this weekend. My Calcium levels are good and my PH is hovering at 8.25 to 8.30...giver take a .01. Any thoughts. I do like the look of the tank with just the MH has nice blue white look and not so washed out with the VHO's.
