Lights out.......... clam ?

6 man reef

My Magnetic MH ballast was fried last night. I only have a pair of 48 inch VHO 's on the 120 it is in now. I will need to save up some dinero to replace the ballast. I have a clam attached to a Huge piece of live rock. I feel the need to move the clam to another of my tanks. None of them could house the live rock it is attached to. How do I detach without harming the clam?

I have read from a few people on here that it is better to cut the strings from the byssal gland rather than try to slowly pull or pry the clam from the rock....
Hopefully that helps a little.

If you cut the clam off from the rocks, make sure you cut very close to the rock. That way you will not hurt the clam and accidently cut its byssal.

Definitely a good point...
I hope you kind of thought of that if you have already cut it and not came back here yet...
Sorry if I messed anything up:confused:
