Great job George.

Just wait until you see the next thread... I'm doing a little dance right now...

The lights were completed this morning, and I breathed a little 120V breath of life into them!

All the rows fired - WOW!

More lights

More lights

And here are photos of the three light sequneces:

This set of (3) rows of ATI Blue Plus bulbs will come of first thing in the morning and be the last ones to turn off at night:

About an hour later the controller will turn on these additional bulbs which will run until an hour before lights out at night:

And finally, this sequence will come on for about six to eight hours in midday - the length of time I leave this most intense sequence lighted will depend on how my coral react to T5 lighting, (after years of combination MH and T5):

Comments? Suggestions?

P.S. - Test of the day: Find the kittie cat in all three of the above pictures... Void where prohibited by law. ;)

That's great, George. When you think of how many places it could have failed, and have them all come on as expected - well that's just a job well done.

I like how you showed us the various lighting periods before it was even installed.

Are the LED strips the moonlighting?

Are the LED strips the moonlighting?

Yes, Marc...that is the stripped down R2 Moonlight System. I am just using the LED strip in its waterproof tubing. It will be mounted on a plastic standoff to put it about 1/2" below the T5 reflector. I am thinking that the reflector will help diffuse the moonlight effect a little...

That's the plan anyway...

Thanks!

Thanks!

Wow! Very nice setup... I cant wait to see them over that beautiful tank.

Thanks, Richard. Hope you subscribe and tag along...it will get interesting next week, as we move the tank and stand into place on June 20...rain or shine!

DUDE.....That stinkin light rack is awesome. It was one thing to see it almost built at the tank tour, but another to see it all fired up and running.

Your tank is gonna be fantastic as all the planning and great advice is getting put to work.

I'm still hoping I can assist with the move.

I'm hoping your schedule will be open next weekend as well...youre like my right hand dealing with these insane tank upgrades...

George,

Congrats on the first lighting of the bulbs.

You should get a visit soon by either the police investigating the suspicious glow or the DUDE wanting to make a midnight purchase .:bum:

Awesome colors on the bulb selection.

You've done an outstanding job.

Was reading a thread where someone built a fish room like yours and sealed the room with silicone (between the floor and wall plate) so spills wouldn't seep into the wood and creep up the wall.

I won't try to keep it in; I'll just get out the Sawsall and cut a hole in the wall to let it all out... :eek1:

That was Weatherson. He sealed the rubber baseboards to the flooring so water couldn't get behind it and ruin the sheetrock. That's a very good plan, and gives you the opportunity to wetvac the area or at least mop up the spill.

Now that makes sense. I will be using rubber baseboards also... I will put a silicone bead under the baseboards...

Marc,

Amazing memory.

The silicone bead would be a lot of trouble now, but it may pay big dividends later.

Sounds like a plan - will lay down some silicone under the "toe" of the rubber baseboard...

Thanks for the tip...

I am taking the window pane out this afternoon, just to make sure it will come out with no hitch - I can't get a glass company here for 8-10 days... something about a tornado in Norman, OK. Yeah, right! :(

Looks like the seller is having the same problems...NO glass company wants to work on Saturday, even if it's just a 30 minute commercial job. The storefront glass might be a do-it-yourself task as well.

Ah me.

wow. i was gonna ask how i could have possibly missed this thread, then i realized you only started it a month ago today!

well done LL! fantastic build so far. i envy your ability to get work done AND update your build thread. i'm struggling with the latter :)..

subscribed.

Dang...So the plan is pulling the store front glass with no prefessional assistance?

Please tell me you are going to have tons of the "billy-bad" suction cup's for everyone to use to pull store front glass, hold and carry the tank and to carry a "billy-big" beer (after the move of course)! The good thing is the tank and stand only has to travel 1/2 mile...that is the easy part.

:)

So far so good on me being available on Saturday.

That's the way it went when they delivered the tank TO the store... We'll have 10-12 large suction cups...will that do?

We'll pull the storefront glass with supervision from Leigh's Dad (he was there for the delivery). We can lean the store glass against the storefront for the few minutes needed to get the tank and stand on my son-in-law's low boy trailer...

Based on the early RSVP's, we should have adequate muscle so no one should have to herniate anything... :D

Look forward to seeing you.
