This is a great build thread. I'm looking forward to pictures later in the day. Hope you are dry, we have a heavy downpour up in Wichita at the moment.

Looking forward to seeing all those pictures later. Enjoy the day and hopefully everything goes good for you.

SUCCESS!

SUCCESS!

The delivery is complete...not a drop of rain...finished the hard part by 10:30 a.m. - had a great meal with friends...some adult beverages - now on to plumbing? Maybe I'll wait a few hours! :eek2:

Photos next.

What a great group of people.

Tank looks great in the spot you prepared.

Congrats again, George.

moved tank and back home in time for the truck race. who could ask for more!!! i was very impressed how everyone worked as a team.. wish the people i work with could learn this concept

Thanks guys and ladies!

Thanks guys and ladies!

Ski is right - everyone worked beautufully as a team! I am so pleased with the successes today. I can't thank everyone enough!

Here are photos taken at the Aquariums Tropical Fish & Supplies Store in Edmond, where we picked up the tank this morning... the store's doors were too small to allow the tank or stand to pass - so our friendly neighborhood glass guys rode to the rescue...after some strugglin and concern about the glass, out it came:

Trust me, it was a lot more difficult than it looked. Apparently the header on the window has collapsed slightly since the last time the glass was removed. Our glass pros knew what to do:

Even with the large plate glass window removed, it was a close fit for the 36" tank which has an 8" overflow tacked on the rear:

Not an inch to spare - I was nervously protecting that Starphire glass front panel with an old quilt project:

The tank (literally) squeaked through the opening and was loaded on a large trailer loaned to us by ACutAbove Landscapes from OKC. Thanks, Darrell.

Next project was to load the stand on Kbrekk's truck - after moving the 750 pound tank, the stand (almost) felt like a piece of cake:

To de house!

To de house!

All loaded up and someplace to go!

First step, we unloaded the 350# steel and plywood stand and hefted it over the picket fence which separates the driveway from the back yard.

The light rack was blocking the way, so after removing the boards, we place the rack on saw horses in the yard.

In through the opening with the stand first:

Checking the stand for position, level, distance into the living room worked out to be 7.25"

Tank you very much!

Tank you very much!

OK back to grapple with the Kahuna...

Have you ever seen a more auspicious group? And that's not even everybody who helped out today:
h9.jpg

Unlike the stand, we decided to carry the tank down the sidewalk. Unfortunately this meant that folks on one side who would have to contend with a tall, throry rose bush! %$&# and other words were spoken...

Here she comes:

Getting there, with Paul (PWhitby) leading the way:

And through tha familiar hole with about 1" room to spare...
h13.jpg

Once again, the darn thing was so heavy, people had to run from outside to inside as they passed off to the inside workers...

Inside at last!

Inside at last!

I was beginning to breath a little easier by this point...

Here is where I was concerned about having a material lift...what was I thinking? Despite the size and weight of the behemoth, our guys were able to lift the tank onto one corner of the stand...
is2.jpg

And while Darien (PeaceinUSA) stabilized the stand, the crew slid the tank into position...

Tony (OKR33fer)and Darien give the word: All is good!

Like Santa on Christmas Eve, the guys in the back retrieved the light rack and attached it to our "edandsandy" track - "Where are the nuts!!??"
is6.jpg

We found the nuts and surveyed the prize, lights and all...

Thank you for all the pictures. I'm tired just from reading it all. :D So, how do you feel now? Is the world a little brighter, the sun a little shinier, the music a little more melodic? ;)

George,
you really had a full crew helping you move the tank and stand!
I'm so happy that everything worked out for you.
