FWIW, I'm with Agu. Having been doing the nano thing for well over 8 years now it's very common to see nanos stuffed with coral frags. You rarely see those tanks looking good a year, two years, three years in. It just can't be done. Corals need plenty of room to grow. LPS like frogs, hammers and torch grow fast given the proper water conditions. My two head frog that was the size of a golf ball last year is now the size of a softball and growing. My 1" finger leather is now 6" plus and about 5" in diameter at it's head. My caulestrea grows like a weed. Right now my RBTA is winning the turf war at the edge between the two. Plan to stock what you really, really like and give those corals plenty of spacing to grow out.

You have a wet thumb, so I'm totally gonna take y'alls advice.
I don't know why, but I assumed it'd take years to grow a frogspawn from a small frag into a baseball size.
What size is best, or is there a typical size of "frag" I should look for?
 
If you can get a few heads, it will seem to grow much more rapidly. Getting a single head, it seems like forever until it's 2, then forever till it's 4... then all the sudden you have 40 ;)

I've (finally) decided on tank inhabitants.
zoas, cycloseris, hammer, lobophyllia (or) mushroom. :)

Were gonna go play with the brs rock to see if I can get a rock structure that is for the corals. I'll post pics or take a video of the rocks later.

I'm just doing short videos as we go of what's involved. We just finished filling it with water just for a leak test for the tank, and it's passed with flying colors *thumbs up*

I love the shimmer of is HQI bulb. It's a blueish-white spectrum.
I've never had a tank with metal halide lights and now I know why everyone loves them. Those shimmer lines are mesmerizing :-0 and I don't even have corals yet.

We've got rock!
We also added 4ppm ammonia (1 teaspoon) to start the ammonia/nitrite cycle.
I'm so excited!

Thanks Todd! I'm so excited! I've never used a metal halide bulb before and it just knocks me out, the shimmer is gorgeous. I can't believe at one time I was thinking of having only T5.
Not!

Now it's just the waiting for it to cycle. We added 4ppm of ammonia yesterday.
