Limpet ummm... reproduction?

So I have some dinner guests over last night and I start geeking out and identifying everything in the tank.. As I am going thru this, white puffs of stuff start coming out of the hole at the top of a limpet.

We immediately start thinking that this limpet is umm splooging out into the water...

Anybody see anything like this, am I on the right track? is it just waste?

I get this all the time, I think I posted on it before calling it "spoogefest" in my tank at that time. I can literally have a dozen or more of those spooge blobs floating around in the tank at one time. Not a big deal usually, except I find it somewhat gross when my foxface insists on eating the blobs. :hmm2: *blech*

nasty!

All of my fish were frightened of us humans gathering arround the tank.

Did you get any baby limpets out of the deal?

Hope so, they've been doing this for awhile now. Doesn't seem like a very accurate way of doing things though.

But yeah, the foxface thing is pretty gross...but that fish is a bit of a fruitcake anyway.
:mixed:

every couple of months my astrea snails do the same thing. about half the snails go to the surface. the others stay on the rock and things. everybody starts shootin that cloud in the water. i am just glad they feel comfortable and happy enough to do that in my tank.
