Linckia multifora Husbandry

anyone know any info on the husbandry of Linckia multifora in aquariums?

ie tank size, diet, care etc?

They supposedly feed on organic films, like the other Linckia species, but they seem to be a little more tolerant of aquarium conditions than the other species. That may be mostly because they don't grow very large and don't starve to death as quickly. A decent-sized tank may even have enough surface area for L. multifora to live and do well.

Cheers,

Don

Opinion on if a 40B is a large enough tank for a multiflora, assuming it is well established. Rock straight from the gulf, water to water?

My new tank is a Ternatensis Mantis tank, Due to it eating most CUC members and killing all the other cool inverts I like, was looking into a star for the tank.

If you are implying that the OP should get rock from the ocean and put in his tank.. Then I have to say I strongly disagree with doing this.... It's like breaking off pieces of SPS for your tank from the wild... What if everybody did that? Bye, bye, nature.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo. That was about MY tank. Rock from TBSaltwater a sponser here silly. He ships in water, from aquaculture site.

It was only added in case people questioned the definition of established.

thanks for the replies would a 90g w/40g sump be enough for the starfish to sustain on, and how many months old established should it be? 6-12 months?

I also posted this topic in reef discussion for more thoughts.
