I bought these as a m and f. Are these two males?

What I'm trying to figure out is do I need to break them up (no aggression for the first 24hrs) or could I have a female (smaller for sure) and a male

Both are males. Females hardly ever enter the market here in SoCal. They are dull in color but still command $140-$175 price tag. That's about the same price as males around here by the way. I've only seen one Lineatus female and she wasn't all that impressive for $170 LFS was asking for her. I believe because of lack of vivid coloration of females and low demand they are not imported as often as males.

They are both males. Only terminal phase males exhibit the red tail, initial phase males can have yellow tails.

A 60 cube won't work long for 2 lineatus wrasses, even if it were a male and a female, but two initial phase males will quickly result in aggression and one forcing the other into hiding.

Thank you. Will be removing one
