liquidation sale at Aquatic World

Hi all,

Today I drove over to Aquatic World in Oconomowoc to pick up some things. When I got there, it was a strange situation. They said they had been robbed, new owner, old owner had gone bankrupt, etc.

In any case, they have 50% off on about everything. VERY LITTLE livestock, but they have salt, dry goods, etc. And all their tanks and setups are a good discount too.

They said they'd be there until 6:00p and I'm not sure after that. They're selling everything, furniture, their tanks, etc. Trying to get rid of it all.

they had one of them. I'm still looking for the second. It fits a 1 and 3/4" hole in the tank. But my standpipe is an odd size. Maybe I need to go to a plumbing store with my pipes and see what I need.

How much of there inventory was left? Where there alot of tanks and equipment left?

Thanks,

I know of a couple guys looking to go bigger.

Yeah, they had a LOT of tanks left. Lots of stands, strip-lights, etc.

The store is in a bit of disarray, and is currently staffed by volunteers, so you should probably know what you want when you go in.

I stopped there too. I agree, for liquidation, that guy is tight. I guess from a close neighbor to the business is that the current owner bought it a year ago and has run the business into the ground.

Got a lawnmower blenny for $15. Not a really good deal, but I felt sorry for the little fish and he looked in decent shape, so I got him in QT now. They had some other fish, but many dead ones in the tanks. At 5:30PM, we asked about the tank lights as none of them were on the guy said he forgot. The tangs looked like skeletons. Made me a bit mad. If he doesn't want to take care of the livestock, mark it down a lot and get it into decent homes. Even corals and anemones were left without .

Also, asked about a 75 with no overflow and one with one. Prices were $90/$150 - respectively. Not great savings at all, but some off normal retail. The 120 with overflow was over $300. For 2 of those, he would have to order the tanks and I would need to prepay 100%. I thought he was kidding me. What idiot would put 100% down on product being ordered by a place going under? Seemed way to fishy to me.

Just for the record I bough a canopy from them not to long ago. I brought it back to the store and reordered a new canopy because it was not tall enough to fit my halides. I had to prepay an additional $130 for the canopy and then the charged me another $80 for shipping it. $210 total on top of what I had already paid $199. Thats a lot of money. I picked up the new canopy (still in box) and brought it home. Upon unpacking the canopy I realized it was the exact same canopy just with different molding. I called them and they would do nothing for me. They said it was the one I had ordered. Funny how the one I ordered had doors on the front and the one I got did not. BTW I live in Sheboygan so the drive is pretty dang long to get ripped off. I would not recommend prepaying for anything from them!!!! Thats not the way it was run in the past!!!

I bought a 210gal tank when it was under the old ownership, just before the change.
They checked out the tank, & loaded it onto my truck.
When I got home they left one piece of cardboard on one of the corners. When I removed the cardboard, there was a flaw in the glass seal. Pretty tricky those guys. I only live 2 miles from AGA, so I paid them a visit. They said they would warranty the tank, & not to worry. I to live a long ways away, & should have paid better attention. I ended up with a factory second.
