List of LFS for Rochester, Syracuse, Buffalo and in between

I was trying to search out a list of saltwater shops locally and since I've never been to any in Buffalo or Syracuse, I figured I would list off the shops I frequent here in the Rochester area. Feel free to add shops you know of and where they are. We all like visiting new shops!!!!

I never see anything about the place in Auburn. It's been a few years, but I used to find some real deals laying around the shed / barn. They had so many nooks and crannies, you could spend an hour just poking around. I think they had ties to a few local breeders too. They always seemed to have a ton of baby clowns.... hmmmm... now that I think about it though, I don't remember many corals. It might have been all hardgoods and fish...

Tropical Fish Emporium is the one in Auburn. I was just in there and they didn't have any corals... just fish

In auburn you might find deals on some fish at the tropical fish emporium but you tend to pay through the nose for corals/anemones.

I've been in a pet shop in Lockport that was really nice. They have a fairly large selection of saltwater stuff. I just can't remember the name of it.

Buffalo Stores:

I am wondering if that pet shop you speak of in Lockport is called Pets Plus (I believe), I went up there to buy our lop ear bunney and to my suprise they have a pretty big selection of fish and corals. Not to sure if many people know about it because when I was in there they had a ton of the more expensive somewhat rarer fish. (Achilles tang, queen angels, emperor angels, blue face angels, you know things of that nature.) Usually thoose kind of fish dont sit in tanks to long as they sell fast....Decent selection of corals, they had a lot of anemones though.

Also there is Markiems pet store, have some salt water tanks and possibly a coral frag tank. (Dont remember as I have bad experience with that place and have not gone there sense)

I've heard ABC has the best fish prices in the area?

I spent a bunch of money at both the Reef Shoppe and Caribbean Forest in the past few days.

I honestly spend just about the same at both The Reef Shoppe and Caribbean Forest. And I usually spend about 2 hours just looking around before I even buy anything.

IMO the roc lfs all bring something to the table. for fish and coral, abc is really hard to beat.

Syracuse also has
Ack's Exotic Pets in Cicero has a Salt water section great owner and he is always willing to order things if not in the store.
ABC reefs has alot of fish and a great selection of coral and the staff are all very helpful
Fairmount Aquarium is also here but they are hit or miss...
