List of sps irritating corals

I know that sps don't like to be near leathers. When I went to my fish store, they told me other corals such as xenia and zooanthids also irritate them as well. In fact he said zoos are the worst, and i haven't heard that before. I know corals will battle it out, but has anyone complied a list of the "most threatening" corals to keep with sps, and especially acros.

for sps unless they are from the same colony they will have issues more than likely. sweeper tenticles, allelopathy( chemical warefare). ive never seen a list you just have to watch you tank and see what happens.

Aside from corals 'Physically' touching, I am curious as well to the harmful effects on acros caused by other corals. From what I have gathered, leather corals release a chemical when stressed, which inhibits the calcification process in sps. ( Again, this is what I have gathered, without my own research, or facts, so if this is incorrect, my apologies and I would love to know more ) If this IS the case, are there other corals that release toxins, and chemicals which could have the same ability to hinder growth??

You asked my question much better than I did. That's exactly what I want to know. Thanks. One last note, the guy at my fish store who really seems to know the reef, said zoanthids wage chemical warefare on sps. That's what concerns me and drove me to ask (since my zoanthids are almost next to my blue acro now).

Yes, some soft corals produce toxins which are excreted into the water as a defense mechanism. Bad for sps.

Lps (faviids, acan echinatas, euphyllia, chalices) can harm sps via stinging contact with sweepers tentacles.

Zoanthids and palythoas can produce palytoxin, a very potent neuro peptide that can cause great harm if ingested, usually through a cut or mucous membrane (eyes, nose, mouth). However, palytoxin is stored internally and not broadcast into the water. One is a risk of exposure when fragging or handling. No impact on sps.

You can always run some GAC to remove those 'irritant' toxins from the water you are concerned about. It is helpful in my tank which is a mixed reef.
