little black bugs

Well, my friend pointed them out to me, it seems i have black bugs chewing at most of my acro's and monti's. Thought it was just on two or three pieces but after a harder inspection, they are on just about all of them. I've decided to go with sentinel since it works for red bugs, i can use it in the tank and i only have two hermits and one emerald crab that doesn't do his job with bubble algae that i would have to worry about. I figured since there isn't much reported on the black variety that i would document how it works on them. I used half a large dog pill, the 23mg size pill, on a total of roughly 80 gallons of water. Little more than what it calls for, could probably have done only 1/3 of the pill, but from what i've read people have done double that dose without any ill effects, so thats a safe place for me. Dosing started about 15 minutes ago, i'll update periodically if anyone is interested. I do have a mandarin, it will be interesting to see how he does, i know thats a question people have with theirs and the pods that will not make it, but he is also eating frozen/thawed so i think that will make a difference.

So far it looks like it's working, it's only been about 3 hours but i no longer see the bugs on my purple bonsai, there were about 5-6 that i saw on it before dosing the tank. About an hour into it, i saw three of them dangling loose from it, normally they are on there pretty good and don't sway with the breeze, so i'll take that as a good sign.

Carbon is on the tank, skimmer back on and going crazy, may have to turn it off for a day, its set back as far as i can put it and still filling fast. no longer see any of the black bugs, guess i'll keep checking over the next few days to see if i can spot any. I can usually see a fair amount of them at any given time so good news so far.

I haven't seen a bug since, emerald crab made it, lost at least one of the two hermits. I'm seeing the skin on the acro's heal up nicely, they didn't do much damage but some were noticeable. i go into the tank with a flashlight daily to see under their shaded parts and look everywhere i can but so far so good, no bugs left.
