Why does Dr. Fosters have seperate live stock pages with different selections. Why not have all of them on one web page?

Is that all the site they have that have livestock?

michaelprater,

Thank you for your excellent question. Livestock from eTropicals and LiveAquaria actually come from different vendors and will run specials independent of each other. eTropicals shipments come from Florida and consist mainly of specimens gathered in the Caribbean. LiveAquaria specimens ship from California and have a wider variety of collection locations. Some specimens from LiveAquaria including Diver's Den and Aquacultured Corals ship from our state of the art Aquaculture Coral and Marine Life facility in Rhinelander, WI.

serum153,

Thank you for contacting us with your question. We ship some of our fish from our California holding facility. We apologize it is not a retail store that people can visit. We have a store but it is located here in Northern Wisconsin. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Hi Stacie,

After reading a number of comments by Dr. Foster indicating that Live Aquaria dropships from wholesalers/importers in Los Angeles, I'm curious what kind of facility it is you're referencing in L.A.

I'm aware that livestock leaving the Wisconsin facility isn't dropshipped, however, your comment leads one to believe that fish and corals shipped from California are held in a facility that Live Aquaria actually owns. Is there an actual Live Aquaria California holding facility (i.e. not a wholesaler's building - Live Aquaria is the sole proprietor)?

If so, what percentage of fish are shipped out of the holding facility rather than being dropshipped?

Is there any way to determine which is which?

I'm not comfortable participating in the dropshipping process, so if some fish from California aren't dropshipped, I'd love to know which ones.

Theclearblue,

Thank you for contacting us with your questions. We apologize for the confusion. LiveAquaria.com does not own this facility; however, a number of their staff is dedicated to our shipping needs specifically. The fish that we ship from here are packaged by these employees and sent in our high quality shipping containers. We have an inventory held at this facility and the live items we sell are properly quarantined and fed prior to being released for purchase. We hope this clears up any misunderstanding.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us.

Sorry if I opened up a can of worms with this thread. Based off what other people have told me, and the 14 day gaurentee, I am sure you have high quality livestock, and I will definately be ordering once my tank is up and going.

I've received shipments for LA (California holding facility) and it is the best quality fish available. I was relieved when I found out were they originate from. Better than most LFS stock and equal to the best.

Nothing to fear. Most fish are MAC certified when available.
