As some of you know, I own 2 Subway fanchises. I am in the process of remodeling one of my stores. Today the contractor cut the concrete to install the plumbing. Now most one story buildings in the state of Florida are built on a concrete slab that rest on dirt.
Usualy you have to cut the concrete then pry it up from the ground. When these guys finished the first cut, the concrete fell down into a 4 foot hole with about 18inches of water in it. Of course the water splashing up, and the concrete falling away scared the hell out of them. At first they thought it was a sink hole. But upon closer inspection we determined it was a like a crawl space and the floor was post tensioned concrete. The entire shopping center is basicly hollow underneath. We stick a flashlight down there and find to our amazement, FISH swimming around. The store is located in a shopping center just like any other one you see around town. There is nothing to make you think there is a small lake under the whole thing. I don't know how they are alive. No light, no steady food supply. How the O2 gets in?
I didn't test it, but I'm going to assume its not salt water.
Though you might find it funny.
