** Live Giant Squid Photographed for First Time

For the first time, scientists have captured images of a live giant
squid--the largest invertebrate in the world--in its natural,
deep-sea environment. The digital pictures not only show how
Architeuthis attacks its prey, but suggest that the animal is
more aggressive than previously thought.

Giant Squid

Yes a very interesting creature!!! Authur C. Clarke and some other squid specialists, have proven that giant squids start their lives near the water surface, and as they mature they go to deeper depths.
Authur C. Clarke also said that a giant squid can strip a tuna in minutes!!!!! In his early days Arthur Clarke was doing research on whaling ships, and he would examine stomachs of freshly killed Sperm Whales. When the whales were cut open huge deep sea squids would roll out. He also found the huge beaks of the squids that could not be digested, and he has quite the collection.
Many female giant squids have been netted by deep sea fishermen, and they had sperm packets under their skin, the sperm is stored for egg fertilization.
The photos are a breakthrough with the study of these squids.
