Live Octopus for Sale - $15 for two

Even tho this is an old thread I'm not going to lock it as it could be interesting. I deleted posts instead.
 
The first half of Mathew's initial post contained the most useful information in this thread. Can we put that back on?
 
Most octopus only eat live foods. Live crayfish at $2 a piece can get costly. I have an octopus and he only eats live crayfish. They are very good escapers. They like to hide in dark places and at night they find escape routes if your tank isnt locked up like a jar. Octopus are short lived and like cooler temperatures. A whole tank dedicated to this species is preferred.
 
I can tell you I haven't seen any live octopus at hmart in a while. They do have lobsters,crabs, and flounders. Lol.
 
I'm no expert on cephalopods but I don't believe most of them even live to be as old as this thread is now ;):p.
