What about FL cultured Coraline LR? There is Florida Cultured Rock with Coraline and then there is just pure Coraline that is also cultured 2.99lb

I would like to get Haitian LR but I can only find it for $10+

What do YOU recommend and Why?

Thanks!

This is a topic of another thread on this forum. A lot of it comes down to taste and how you feel about aquacultured vs colllected live rock

Personally I want to do a tank in Caribbean Rock someday and turn it into a completely Caribbean biotope with gorgonians, ricordia and sea mats. The only wat to get any Carribean hard corals is to get those that naturally grow on the aquacultured rock.

Many people do not like the rock because much of the life on it dies, longterm, and it is much more dense than some of the pacific rocks.

If you prefer pacific aquacultured rock you can always go with Walt Smith.

I'm kind of a reef penny pincher. Were I to set up a new system I would go 25% TBS and 75% Marco rocks or Eco rox . This way more of the cash goes to skimmer & lighting than I would be able to afford going all live.
I like the dry rock for the shapes but the caveat is that it takes longer to finish the cycle. If you use any dry rock at all I would highly recommend 3 or 4 soaks in RO to reduce algae during the saltwater cure.

I've done the same thing as rustylugnuts and has worked well for me, just takes a little more patients with the longer cycle is all

So are you at all concerned about the Phosphates in the TBS rock since they announce they use upland rock. Limestone?

Also, the Macro rock looks like Caribsea rock. Is there a reason why people spend the extra money on Figi or Tonga or Hatian besides the shapes and holes?
