live rock / base rock

I am about to buy 100 lbs of base rock and 25 lbs of live rock. I am going to put them in a tank to cycle and seed until I get my big tank built. Any tips or techniques to suggest? Also, is there any type of normal output flourescent that will be better for this process (coralline growth, etc) ?

Skim hard with frequent water changes. I think you will be fine with the NO lights. Too powerful lights can turn your rock white in a hurry...lower wattage lights while it is curing is better.
