I WAS TALKING TO AN EMPLOYEE AT A LFS HE TOLD ME WHEN A START ADDING LIVE ROCK I SHOULD ADD A SUPPLIMENT, BUT I DONT REMEMBER ANY SUGGESTIONS.

Can you give us some more details? Are you adding this live rock to a new tank or one that's been running for some time? Where are you getting the live rock? What are your goals for this system?

I agree. No supplements should be added at any point in your tank's life unless it's something that you're testing for and KNOW is low in your tank, or it's something that is generally agreed upon (and there are very few things that fall into that category!)

If you want more specific advice, give us some more details on your setup, what kind of rock, etc.

No - no need to add any supplements just for live rock.

If you add corals, particularly calcifying corals, they'll deplete calcium and carbonate, and you'll probably need to supplement.

That's putting the cart before the horse, though. Calcium and Carbonate Hardness (Alkalinity) are a couple of water parameters that you should be aware of. There are a few others - salinity, pH, temperature, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate. Magnesium and Posphate are good to know, too. There are some great articles in the Reef Chemistry forum that discuss them.

You should know each parameter before you supplement it - where it is, what your target is, and which dosage will achieve the target - testing afterward to verify. "Don't supplement what you don't test for" ('not sure who to credit for that!).
