Hi; this research project is a little off topic (it's not reef conservation related) - they're looking for soil samples from people all over the world in a search for useful enzymes, specifically for use in targeting age-related diseases; the more biodiverse the better. I figured they'll be getting a lot of samples from people's lawns, but a little live sand from some established tanks could be a great source of microbes that they wouldn't get from many other easily accessed sources. They're also giving a $100 prize to one sample donor- so you could get lucky and get enough $ for a coupla frags while helping scientific research. Here's the link with address etc:
